HOW TO USE - You can use this product to make Chili paste (???) or rice punch (??). This powder has a sweet, malty flavor and is an important ingredient for homemade gochujang and for sikhye. The enzyme amylase in barley malt powder converts the starch in rice into sugar at warm temperatures in water.
WHAT IS SIKHYE - Sikhye (??) is a Korean traditional tea / drink often consumed during the Korean festive holidays (e.g. New Year’s Day and Korean Harvest Festival).
